FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

1 Corinthians 10:31 - 33 NKJV

The above scripture keeps resounding in our minds and hearts and has served as a guide to all we do at Ghana Christian Mission (GCM). It is with this in mind, that GCM partners with Global Health Outreach (GHO) annually to carry out free medical outreach in deprived and needy communities in the southern parts of Ghana. The goal is to reach people who will usually not allow you to preach God’s word to them. However, through medical screening, the right avenue is created to reach such people with God’s word. Over the years, many have to come the Lord and been baptized through these outreaches. Below are details of this year’s outreach held at Dzetorkoe in the South Tongu District of the Volta region.

A five-day clinic was held at Dzetorkoe from 29th July – 2nd August, 2024. Each clinic day started at 9:00 am with a prayer and ended with a prayer at 5:00 pm. The clinic team consisted of pastors, evangelists, doctors, nurses, pediatricians, physician assistants, pharmacists, physiotherapists, dental hygienist, public health officers, community health volunteers and interpreters.

At the end of the five-days clinic, about 2000 people were seen on an outpatient basis. Among the people seen, 32 accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal savior and 69 rededicated their lives to the Lord.

Each clinic day was characterized by preaching of the Word of God as people waited to be seen by the medical team. They got their vital signs checked, complaints taken, and then proceeded to be attended to by prescribers, physiotherapists, dental hygienist, wound care, malaria testing, HIV testing, pregnancy testing, random blood glucose checking, diabetic and hypertensive medications refill and needed health education.

Each person seen was prayed for by a group of pastors designated mainly for healing and counseling. It was through this prayer and counseling session that several of them accepted Jesus Christ. After prayers, they proceeded to collect their prescribed medications and other items prescribed to aid them.

Some cases treated during the outreach include malaria, urinary tract infections, cellulitis, diabetes, hypertension, anemia, enteric fever, gastritis, acute asthma exacerbation, allergies, STIs, musculoskeletal pains, arthritis, conjunctivitis, dental caries, pneumonia, and various kinds of skin infections.

It is a great encouragement and blessing to know that lives are being changed and transformed through these medical outreaches. We give glory to God for the great things He has done and keeps doing during such outreaches. We couldn’t have done any of it without the support of our partners and donors. Special thanks to the 18-member team from the United States – including doctors, nurses, physical therapist, dental assistant, pharmacist, and volunteers – under the leadership of Dr. Eugene Wang. God bless you all!

Prayer Points

• Kindly pray for all who received Christ and rededicated their lives to the Lord – that they will remain steadfast in their faith until the end.

• Kindly pray for the GHO team (who has returned safely to the USA) that the Lord will replenish any resources spent on GCM and on the outreach.

• Kindly pray for GCM to get more partners and donors to be able to do more and reach more people with the gospel through such outreaches.

• Kindly pray for a team from Compassion Christian Church (USA) who are in Ghana and visiting the North to visit ongoing projects and also encourage the church planters.

JULY 2024 MONTHLY REPORTS

Pastor Paul Lawson – FAME Clinic, Loagri

Glory to the Almighty, the great and perfect Doctor.

A woman from a surrounding community fell sick and was admitted in the clinic. We prayed with her and paid half of her hospital bill since her health insurance had expired.

And because of that act of kindness, we are on the point to bring her into Christianity.

Our prayer is for more impact in our activities that we may continue to work also for His glory.

Pastor Francis Addae – FAME Clinic, Makango

Thanks be to Almighty God who has led us through the month of July 2024 successfully.

Thanks also goes to the staff who took the challenge by going for a clinical outreach in the surrounding communities and attended to the clients as well.

This has increased the attendance to our facility and we give all glory to God.

We still observe our duties of starting our activities with a devotion and prayers and also visiting clients.

It’s our prayer for more understanding and oneness among the staff and also for the management to work hard to meet our needs to work hard and save more lives.

May God bless us all.

Pastor Paul Akuteye

The month of July is known for being the mid-way point of the year and it is a festive month, and considered a month of fun by many.

Spiritually, it symbolizes growth, strength and transformation so the Pistis family in Kumasi was blessed to host the National Congress at Mount Olive Retreat Center in Oduom, Kumasi.

The theme for the congress was “Committed leadership – A Sure Way to Success” with reference from John 10: 11 – 14. It lasted Tuesday, July 2 to Friday, July 5.

We had dynamic speakers like the out-going chairman of the Pistis family in Ghana in the person of Pastor Hayford Ahiabu and Pastor Austin Ganyo as well as Pastor Enoch Nyador.

National issues were considered, and finally there was an election of new executives.

A few pastors and I were fortunate to be the facility coordinators, and my wife Mrs. Ruth Akuteye and some few women from the Kumasi assembly were blessed to be at the Holy Communion Table. It was really a very, very successful program.

Looking at the budget, and how everybody was beautifully accommodated, well-fed and refreshed, we want to thank God for such a wonderful provision.

May God also continue to bless the old executive members for their love and selfless support.

It is my prayer that the good Lord will continue to make enough provision to the newly elected executive members to continue from where the old executives left off.

Our children in Kumasi had a successful Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and by the Grace of God, all came out successfully without any incidents and any examination malpractices.

We praise God for His provision.

Pastor Yeboah Ernest Junior – FAME Clinic, Benwoko

We appreciate the kindness and goodness of God towards us during the month of July. Praises to our God.

Devotions and clinical activities are still ongoing. Attendance of patients has gone up due to the rainy season. The nurses and the rest of the staff did their best to render good and quality health care to our clients and by the healing power of God through medicines and prayers, the patients are healed.

We thank Ghana Christian Mission for timely supply of medicines. God bless all donors and partners as well.

May God continue to use FAME Clinics to heal, comfort and bring salvation in Jesus Christ to our patients in Benwoko and beyond.

Pastor Kingsley Nyindam – FAME Clinic, Tatindo

We thank God Almighty for seeing us through the seventh month of the year. The Lord is still in the business of healing His children through the use of medicine, His Word and prayer. The Lord is working through the hands of the medical staff, with prayer backing from the chaplaincy, the clients receive wholistic healing.

Continue to pray for the few staff who are trying their best to keep the facility running.

Also, continue to pray for the extension of the facility. Its completion will help improve health care.

Glory to God for seeing us through the seventh month of the year.

Baptism: The Lord added seven souls to His church this month. Please pray that they will be established in the Lord.

Tools: Ten (10) audio Bible tapes have been received and distributed to some church leaders to enhance Bible studies in their respective churches.

More of such tools would be appreciated, so that more people can listen to the Bible in their native language since many of them are not able to read due to the high illiteracy rate.

Project: The Tatale church building project has reached the lentil level, but has since halted due to lack of funds. Please continue to pray with us as we trust God to help us bring this project to completion.

The farmers and people in our operational area are plagued with a very severe drought, nothing significant is done in terms farming as at this time of the year. We are already facing food insecurity, and this situation will worsen next year should the drought persist. Please pray for rain.

Also, we risk losing our church at Ibubu in Togo, as the ban on the church activities continues. Please pray that the Lord, the owner of His church will intervene.

Ongoing building project at FAME Clinic, Tatindo.

Pastor Daniel Liwamor

Let's give thanks to the Lord for the month of July has ended peacefully. My family, the church and I are well by His grace.

There's hardship and lack of food in most of some homes due to the lack of rain. It's affected the church too. Some of our youths are running to the cities to find work to do for a living.

It's almost two months of no rain, and most of the crops are dying.

Prayer Request

We need prayers for the people of the north, that God should come to our aid and give us rain before the month of August ends.

Pastor David Addy Akpesey

Thank God for saving the lives of four of our church members and another person who were involved in a car accident.

Elder Francis Adedze had a deep cut on his forehead and was rushed to the Jei Krodua Clinic for treatment.

Though he had severe headaches after the injury he has now fully recovered.

·       Pray for my mother-in-law who has been seriously sick for the past two months and couldn't move and walk.

Pastor Francis Addae

My Lord has done it again by giving us travel mercies throughout the month of July.
